A Few Words About Paying the Piper

An event is defined as one date, and one location per a  ninety minute time period. A Wedding and a Reception, (or any booking that requires two separate locations) may constitute two events based on location and the time factor. There are exceptions that make it possible to go with just one slightly higher fee. Please inquire.

It’s the little things

Be sure to share all scheduling, cues, and itinerary prior to the event. I always plan to arrive early to discuss details and last minute changes with a contact of your choosing. This could be a family member, wedding coordinator, or anyone as long as they will have time available to go over the program. Additionally, I may need a place to get dressed and last minute tuning. Lastly, if I am to play the pipes while entering or exiting a building, I will need one or two designees to open doors ahead of me. A Bagpiper crashing into a doorway can put a damper on the overall mood.

Life is like a box of chocolates

When you schedule your event, please consider that it is always best to limit actual performances to less than fifteen minutes at a time with a similar break period. It is always best to leave your guests wanting more. Remember, the Bagpipes are a powerful instrument, and as such, tend to limit conversation. Similar to chocolate, they are best served just a little bit at a time.
