The Military has had a bond with Scottish Pipers since the Revolutionary War. For the purposes of this web-site I am adding to this category Political Parties, the CIA, FBI, VA, Homeland Security, Firefighters, First Responds, and Police, Sheriff, and Highway Patrol divisions. The reason for this is that Pipers work with each of these organizations and I don’t want to leave any one of these agencies out. I am always honored to perform for National Holidays including Veterans Day, Memorial Day, and 9-11 Events among others.
Each of these groups is entitled to the same services I am able to provide. Be it a National Holiday, a Retirement, or a Reunion Black Tie Dinner, if I am available, I will be there for them on request. To be brief, this would also include Service Branch Deployments, or a unit returning home. I will be there when needed. God bless the men and women of our Armed Forces, Police and Fire Departments for the work they do to keep us safe and afford us the opportunity to know what freedom is.
Political Parties are in the mix because they are part of the fabric of this Nation. If called on to serve our Nation in any way that I am able, I will be there.
Retirements
Retirements from the Military are filled with mixed emotions and Pomp and Circumstance. As a Piper I am honored to be a part of these Ceremonies, and the Pipes are a fitting tribute to a long career and the return of being a Civilian again. I have performed these functions for the all branches and everyone of these Ceremonies is special when you hear what these people have endured to get to their retirement date.
Other occasions that require a Piper include Officer’s Candidate School Wake Ups, Deployments and the joyous return Home. Some of the other unique events include the Unit Reunions. I have performed for Reunions of Units from WW2 and all wars since. It is truly great to see these Soldiers seemingly going back in time to enjoy stories and photos from days long past. The pipes seem to emphasize the Esprit De Corps. Just being there to see them and hear their stories is inspiring, and again, it is I who am honored in honoring them.
Political Parties

Politics, love ’em or hate ’em, are a part of the Government that deserves our respect. Whom ever the candidates are, we should always remember that these people have given up a normal life to serve their Nation. If i am called on to perform for one of the Political Parties or a Member of the Local, State or Federal Government, I do my part as long as my principles stay intact, and I am able to do the job asked of me.
During the 2016 Elections I was asked to play Happy Birthday and a few other tunes for President Donald J. Trump’s Mother who, it turns out was Scottish. Mary Anne Macloud was her Maiden Name. Being a Scot, how could I possibly turn that opportunity down? Then there was the point that the person who asked me to play was Sarah Palin! It was pretty much a lock at that point. I was honored to serve the Republican Party and President Trump then, and I would do it again at a moments notice.
